Soft Homemade Bread

Ingredients:

4 cups all-purpose flour

2 teaspoons instant yeast

2 tablespoons sugar

1 ½ teaspoons salt

2 tablespoons vegetable oil or melted butter

1 ½ cups warm water (not hot)

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, salt, and instant yeast.
  2. Add the warm water and oil, then mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Punch down the dough and divide it into two or shape it into one large loaf.
  6. Place into parchment-lined loaf pans.
  7. Cover and let it rise again for 30–40 minutes.
  8. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 25–30 minutes or until golden on top.
  9. Let the bread cool before slicing.
