Ingredients :
4 cups peeled & sliced fresh peaches (or canned, drained)
1 cup granulated sugar (divided)
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
¼ teaspoon salt
½ cup unsalted butter, melted
½ cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a bowl, combine the peaches with ½ cup of the sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Toss gently and set aside.
In a separate mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and remaining ½ cup sugar.
Stir in the milk and vanilla extract until a smooth batter forms.
Pour the melted butter into a 9-inch pie dish or baking dish, coating the bottom evenly.
Carefully pour the batter over the melted butter without stirring.
Spoon the peach mixture evenly over the batter. Do not mix.
Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and set.
Allow to cool slightly before serving.
