Ingredients
1½ lbs ground beef
1/4 cup bread crumbs
1 large egg
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
Salt and black pepper to taste
2 tablespoons olive oil or butter (for frying)
Gravy:
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 cups beef broth
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions:
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, bread crumbs, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined.
Form the mixture into oval-shaped patties.
Heat olive oil or butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add the patties and cook for 4–5 minutes per side until browned. Remove patties from the skillet and set aside.
In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
Whisk in the flour and cook for 1–2 minutes until lightly browned.
Gradually whisk in the beef broth, stirring constantly until smooth.
Stir in Worcestershire sauce and season with salt and black pepper.
Return the patties to the skillet, reduce heat to low, and simmer for 10–15 minutes until the gravy thickens and the patties are cooked through.
Serve hot with gravy spooned over the patties.
