HOT FUDGE PIE

Ingredients:

1 stick butter, softened

1 cup sugar

2 eggs

1 tsp vanilla

3 Tbsp cocoa powder

1 tsp salt

1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 cup heavy cream

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the unbaked pie crust in a 9-inch pie pan.

In a medium bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

Add the eggs and vanilla, beating until well combined.

Stir in the cocoa powder and salt until smooth.

Pour the mixture into the prepared pie crust.

Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the pie is set in the center. Remove from oven and let cool slightly.

While the pie cools, heat the heavy cream in a small saucepan until just simmering. Pour over the chocolate chips in a heatproof bowl and stir until smooth to make the hot fudge topping.

Pour the hot fudge over the cooled pie before serving.

Serve warm or at room temperature.
